In Chicago on Oct. 15, 2007, Occupational Hazards celebrated the 2007 America's Safest Companies: BWXT Pantex, CH2M Hill, E.J. Ajax & Sons, Kroger Manufacturing, Louisiana-Pacific Corp., M.B. Herzog Electric Inc., Parker Drilling Co., Rea Magnet Wire, Southern Ohio Medical Center and W.W. Grainger Inc.

These companies demonstrated support from management and employee involvement; innovative solutions to safety challenges; injury and illness rates lower than the average for their industries; comprehensive training programs; evidence that prevention of incidents is the cornerstone of the safety process; good communication about the value of safety; and a way to substantiate the benefits of the safety process.

Kroger Manufacturing brought a large group from their headquarters in Cincinnati to help celebrate. Louisiana-Pacific Corp. sent some of its 5,600 employees, including Corporate Health and Safety Director Keith Harned (far right), to celebrate.
Gold Sponsor MCR Safety helped celebrate America's Safest Companies. Rea Magnet Wire's Ken Vandenberghe (second from right) invited the other ASC companies to participate in a safety conference!
