Imagine watching TV in your living room when you hear a terrific crash outside. When you go out to investigate, you find a hole in the rear end of your car and a matching hole in your driveway. In the hole, you find a bowling-ball-size rock that smells like sulfur.
Later, you learn that the rock was a meteorite that traveled millions of miles from outer space en route to the trunk of your orange 1980 Chevy Malibu.
