AIHA Names Davis as Executive Director

The American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) has selected Steven H. Davis, CAE, as executive director. Davis has been acting executive director since December 2002. He served as deputy executive director for four and a half years.

"The AIHA Board of Directors is confident that Steven's skills and experience are just what we are looking for," said President Gayla J. McCluskey, CIH, CSP, ROH, QEP. "We trust that Steven can provide the leadership AIHA needs for continued growth."

Davis said he "embrace(s) the mission of AIHA and I am very happy to have this opportunity to continue to serve the members and promote the profession of occupational and environmental health and safety."

Davis served three tours of duty in Vietnam, the maximum allowed in the Naval Advisory Group. There he earned a Navy and Marine Corps Medal for heroism for saving two young Vietnamese girls from drowning near Danang. Following his military service, he completed an undergraduate degree in biology and a graduate degree in botany/horticulture. He came to AIHA with 25 years of experience in association management.
