Feb. 23, 2007
In a Webcast and live event, one of the leading authorities on the safety and health implications of nanotechnology will discuss the progress that has been made in understanding and preventing work-related injuries and illnesses potentially caused by nanoparticles and nanomaterials.

Dr. Paul Schulte, who is the coordinator of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health's (NIOSH) Nanotechnology Research Program, will present a progress report at 12:30 p.m. on Feb. 28 at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, D.C. The event will take place in the center's fifth-floor conference room.

The Project on Emerging Nanotechnologies – which was launched in 2005 by the Wilson Center and the Pew Charitable Trusts – is organizing the event. Moderated by Dr. Andrew Maynard, chief science advisor for the Project on Emerging Nanotechnologies, the event "is dedicated to helping business, governments and the public anticipate and manage the possible health and environmental implications of nanotechnology."
