Ohio Manufacturers' Association Unveils New Safety Training Program

March 22, 2002
The Ohio Manufacturers' Association (OMA) is offering all manufacturers in Ohio a free, CD-ROM-based OSHA safety awareness training program.

Through its Industrial Learning Alliance (ILA), the Ohio Manufacturers' Association (OMA) is offering all manufacturers in Ohio a free, CD-ROM-based Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety awareness training program.

"ILA: OSHA Walkthrough for Manufacturers" will be demonstrated on March 27 during the 72nd Annual Ohio Safety Congress & Expo at the Cleveland Convention Center.

"Our primary mission is to create value for our members," says Eric L. Burkland, OMA president. "However, we also are deeply committed to enhancing safety in the workplace for all Ohio manufacturers."

To accomplish that goal, the OMA created a safety training partnership to provide - at no cost to Ohio manufacturers - an interactive tool to help them improve their safety management systems and educate their employees about OSHA compliance issues.

The partnering organizations include the Ohio Department of Development, the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation, the Ohio Board of Regents, the Ohio Department of Education and the OMA.

As a result of these organizations working together, the OMA will distribute "ILA: OSHA Walkthrough for Manufacturers" at no cost to all 23,000 manufacturers in Ohio in July 2002.
