Calling All Volunteer Fire Departments!

Jan. 13, 2005
The National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) is looking for volunteer fire departments that have established health and wellness programs in their departments.

The NVFC is conducting a Firefighter Health and Wellness Study to analyze effective model example health and wellness programs. Specifically, the council is looking for programs that address fitness and exercise (aerobic, flexibility, strength training, etc.); diet; smoking cessation; and other areas that have a positive impact on the volunteer fire service community and mitigate the loss of life among volunteer firefighters from heart attack and stress.

If you or your department have such a program and want to participate in the study, contact Maggie Wilson at [email protected].
