AIHA Ousts Executive Director

Dec. 19, 2002
The American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) is replacing Executive Director Richard A. Strano, CAE. The AIHA Board of Directors has unanimously approved the appointment of Steven H. Davis, CAE, to serve as the acting executive director.

The board made no statement about Strano, or his departure, but AIHA President Gayla J. McCluskey, CIH, CSP, ROH, QEP, said the group "appreciates Steven's leadership during this transition period. He has served AIHA well over the past four and one-half years as deputy executive director, and has more than 25 years of association management experience. The Board of Directors is confident that under Steven's direction, there will be no interruption in member activities or services."

In 2003, the AIHA Board of Directors will evaluate AIHA's executive leadership and determine how to best move forward in permanently filling the executive director position.
