Recycling paid off for the Building Owners and Managers\rAssociation of San Francisco (BOMA SF).

The association was selected to receive the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 9 Office's fourth annual Environmental Achievement Award.

The EPA will host a reception at its offices in San Francisco on Thursday, June 6 at 9:00 a.m., which will be immediately followed by an award ceremony in which BOMA SF and other regional organizations will be recognized for the various environmental protection and enhancement programs they've developed and implemented in the past year.

"We're delighted that the EPA thinks as highly as we do of BOMA San Francisco's Solid Waste and Recycling Task Force efforts," said BOMA SF President Ken Perry. "It's creative member-driven endeavors like our recycling and solid waste program that make BOMA SF such an invaluable organization to those who participate in it, and to the community as a whole."

Key members of BOMA's Solid Waste and Recycling Task Force include its chair, Kathleen Hennesey, recycling coordinator at San Francisco's Moscone Convention Center; its vice-chair, Chris Levaggi, the commercial recycling manager for Golden Gate Disposal and Recycling Company; and Former Task Force Chair Mark Rumpler. Also instrumental in the Task Force's efforts was Ken Cleaveland, BOMA SF's director of Government and Public Affairs.

The EPA's Region 9 office serves of Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, the Pacific Islands and more than 140 Tribal Nations.
