The Wastefulness of Humans [Infographic]

Nov. 24, 2015
To highlight the wastefulness of our culture, Stormline, a manufacturer of foul weather gear, created the following infographic.

A key part of being thankful is fully appreciating the cost of those things we love. And that means looking far beyond the price tag; it means considering the environmental impact and the toll on human life.

"Waste is a problem in almost every industry, but the marine industry is highly sensitive to it. We hate to see it as fishermen are literally having to throw away their income. For every line-caught Halibut caught in the Bering Sea for example, seven of the same fish are discarded by trawlers due to strict quotas and regulations. Food is literally being thrown away before it even reaches the consumer," Stormline director Regan McMillan said.
