AIHce 2011: Innovate, Integrate and Inspire

The American Industrial Hygiene Conference and Expo (AIHce), held this year in Portland, Oregon, May 14-18, features a theme of “Innovate, Integrate, Inspire.”

This year’s conference will feature keynote speeches and education sessions led by OSHA Administrator Dr. David Michaels, who will discuss OSHA initiatives, challenges and directions; Gene Kranz, a NASA flight control director and Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient; Michael P. Wilson, Ph.D., MPH, who will discuss green chemistry in industrial hygiene; and many more. In addition, a session focusing on radiation hazards will address the recent nuclear emergency in Japan.

Considering Portland’s environmentally friendly reputation, “Going Green” could be the second, unofficial theme of this year’s event. Conference attendees will use Portland’s free light rail system to travel to the Oregon Convention Center.
