Spotlight: Online Health and Safety Course
UL, the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine and the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) School of Public Health have collaborated on the launch of a new online course. “Fundamentals of Integrated Health and Safety,” a seven-module e-learning course, offers strategies using the concept of integrated health and safety. Features of the course include more than five hours of instruction, animated modules, video clips of national experts in health and safety, templates measurement tools and access to scholarly articles and research studies.
Spotlight: Arc Flash Toolbox Talks
Brady’s Arc Flash Toolbox Talks are approximately one minute in length. The videos provide viewers with concise and valuable information to stay up-to-date on regulations and safety challenges. Rosetta Stone Catalyst is a digital language-learning solution designed to address the diverse needs of business learners in the workplace. The program offers targeted learning paths in 24 languages with audio and visual content ranging from navigating foreign travel to making business presentations. Employees also have unlimited access to live online tutoring sessions with native speakers. Catalyst is available in three different tiers: bronze (e-learning only), silver (e-learning and group tutoring) and gold (e-learning with access to one-on-one tutoring sessions).
Spotlight: Health Knowledge Assessment Program
ClickSafety has introduced a new micro-learning platform, Safety and Health Knowledge Assessments, supports and measures safety training compliance retention. The program complements core ClickSafety training courses, helping refresh, reinforce and benchmark a participant’s initial ClickSafety learning experience. Year-round, learners will receive one daily question on their PC or mobile device related to the original ClickSafety course they took. The question feedback provided to the learner consists not only of correct/incorrect responses, but can include text, graphics, videos or links to web pages to reinforce the original course.
Fixed Gas Detector for Benzene
Photo-Ionization PID-sensor technology is utilized with Mil-Ram Technology’s VOC gas detector for Benzene to provide low parts-per-million (ppm) monitoring under demanding field conditions. The TA-2100 is suitable for indoor/outdoor installations and has been optimized for fixed, continuous monitoring applications in industrial environments. UV lamp life is 12 months under normal operating conditions, depending upon environment. Various applications include oil refining, chemical processing, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, laboratories and more.

Flame-Resistant Women’s Clothing
Carhartt has launched a new line of flame-resistant women’s clothing. The new assortment which includes a jacket, a denim pant and canvas pant, a coverall, a woven shirt and three knit shirts focuses on fabric and fit while mirroring the sizing of Carhartt’s non-FR women’s styles. The clothing is for women working in the electric utilities and oil and gas industries. These products will be available July 1 at select Carhartt company stores.
Fall Prevention Lifeline
The FallTech Kernmantle HLL is a completely engineered system with all of the components necessary to install a horizontal lifeline. Features include a durable 11/16 in. Kernmantle rope with stitched thimble-eye end termination, line tensioner allows for set-up and tear-down and limits over tensioning and also has an energy absorber to limit fall arrest forces. The system also has two, heavy-duty pass-through anchor straps and two carabiners and two, alloy steel connection O-rings. It is compatible with most horizontal lifeline stanchions available on the market and is compliant with OSHA 1926.502.
Mount Vernon FR
Mount Vernon FR is expanding its collection of flame- resistant (FR) FlexTex fabrics. The flex program now includes six denim and four piece-dyed FR fabrics. Many of the fabrics were developed in conjunction with stylists at apparel manufacturers to provide comfort and stretch in the resulting garments while capturing the authentic look and characteristics of traditional non-stretch denim. Mount Vernon FR FlexTex fabrics meet the performance requirements of ASTM F1506 and are NFPA 2112 component recognized.
