As the days become shorter and Halloween approaches, the National Safety Council (NSC) is cautioning parents to be prepared for hazards that come with falling leaves.

Children are more than twice as likely to be hit by a car and die on this particular celebration full of treats and laughter, according to the organization.

With the proper personal protective equipment and prevention efforts, each child can have a happy and safe holiday.
