“California has many unique safety rules and requirements for employers, and the goal of the ERI Safe California Workplaces Award is to share the best practices of top employers in our state,” says Matthew T. Humphrey, general manager of Employer Resource Institute (ERI), which sponsors the award. “We’re looking for real practices that work for real businesses – tactics that make them safer places to work and more successful organizations.”
A team of ERI staff members review contest entries and choose finalists. Six expert judges will make the final call and determine the winner. This year’s judges include Lloyd W. Aubry Jr., Esq., of Morrison & Foerster LLP; Cathy Divodi of Artemis Claims Consulting; Kurt Franklin, Esq., of Hanson Bridgett LLP; Diana Gregory, SPHR, of Administaff; Dave K. Smith, CSP, REA, of Dave Smith & Co. Inc; and Rhoma Young of Rhoma Young & Associates.
The grand prize winner will receive an engraved award plaque, a 1-year subscription to Cal/OSHA Compliance Advisor Online (a $399 value) and front-page coverage in an upcoming issue of Cal/OSHA Compliance Advisor. In addition, two honorable mentions will receive a mention in an upcoming issue of the Compliance Advisor and an engraved plaque.
Entries will be accepted until midnight Pacific Daylight Time on Aug. 31. More information and a contest entry form are available at http://www.ca-safety.com/award.
