Six Essentials for an Effective Workplace Violence Program

March 21, 2019
How should you prepare your workers for an active shooter?

A former federal protective security advisor for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Emad “Al” Shenouda has seen the proliferation of active shooting incidents across the United States. He now provides consulting services as well as training through The Power of Preparedness, a sequence of courses designed to prepare workers for a workplace violence situation.

There have been more than 250 active shooting incidents between 2000 and 2017, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. With mass causalities the main goal of the perpetrator, it’s crucial for employers to protect workers and prepare them should an incident occur.

Shenouda details six steps that should be taken to ensure your employees are safe.
