OSHA Accepting Nominees for NACOSH

OSHA announced in the Feb. 12 Federal Register that it is accepting nominations for people to serve on the National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health (NACOSH).

The committee was established under section 7(a) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 to advise the secretary of Labor and the secretary of Health and Human Services on matters relating to the administration of the act.

Nominations will be accepted for seven vacancies in the following categories:

  • Public representatives (two).
  • Management representative (one).
  • Safety representative (one).
  • Labor representatives (two).
  • Health representative (one).

All nominated members will serve a 2-year term.

Any interested person or organization may nominate one or more qualified persons for membership. Nominees should be identified by name, place of birth, occupation or position, address and telephone number.

The category that the candidate would represent should be specified and a resume of the nominee’s background, experience and qualifications should be included.

Nominations Due March 14

Nominations must be submitted no later than March 14 and should be submitted to the OSHA Docket Office, Room N-2625, U.S. Department of Labor, 200 Constitution Ave. NW, Washington, D.C. 20210. The phone number is (202) 693-2350.
