Summary

In 2017, the OSHA General Industry Walking-Working Surface Standard was updated, nearly 50 years after its last revision. In this new language, OSHA clarified and sometimes created requirements for Authorized, Competent, and Qualified persons to inspect and certify PPE and other fall protection equipment. There are other jurisdictions and consensus standards too—OSHA 1926, ANSI Z359, the EM385—all of these standards detail other requirements for a fall protection program.

So often, when we think of fall protection, we think of PPE. But parsing the various standards and creating a Fall Protection Program—so the equipment can do its job--is daunting to the average employer. What does it all mean?! In this webinar, participants will learn about the Managed, Comprehensive Fall Protection Program and everything it requires.

Some of our key takeaways & learning objectives:

  • Learn how best to relay the components of a Managed, Comprehensive Fall Protection Program
  • Understand how to relay the ABCDs of Fall Protection
  • Ability to explain two types of “inspections” articulated in the law
  • Name and describe three common worker designations discussed as part of training
  • Where to place a fall protection system into the Hierarchy of Controls

The webinar will benefit safety managers, employers, building owners, facility managers, and many others. Participants will also be provided with information to aid in creating and maintaining a compliant program.
