What Employers Need to Know About Ebola

Noted labor attorney Howard Mavity says companies are unsure how to react and that most are looking to the CDC for guidance.

Labor attorney Howard Mavity says the evolving CDC guidelines are creating a lot of confusion among companies attempting to keep workers safe and at the same time comply with federal regulations.

He says quarantining individuals suspected of being exposed to the deadly Ebola virus could be a violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act.

At the same time, states are stepping in with their own rules, but these are in flux. Mavity says one challenge is getting everyone to "inject some rationality" and that getting to a "relaxed management" of the crisis is some time away.
