The Canadian Standards Association, Canada's leading developer of standards and codes, publishes "Protective Eyewear, a User's Guide," which provides practical tips on the selection and maintenance of eyewear.

The Canadian Standards Association (CSA), Canada's leading developer of standards and codes, has published "Protective Eyewear, a User's Guide."

Based on the CSA Industrial Eye and Face Protectors standard, CAN/CSA Z94.3-99, the guide is a valuable tool for employers, safety professionals and users, providing practical tips on the selection, maintenance and effective use of protective eyewear. Included in the handbook will be information on different types of protective eyewear, the applications of these types, advice on what features to look for when purchasing protective eyewear, how to store and maintain different types of protective eyewear and guidance on medical issues concerning prescription protective eyewear.

"Although a National Standard of Canada, industrial eye and facial

protectors are not required by law to meet CSA requirements," said standard facilitator David Shanahan. "So it is buyer beware when purchasing protective eyewear. This guidebook will provide practical, valuable information about the selection, care and use of protective eyewear in Canada, and help users to avoid purchasing protectors that do not meet the rigid requirements of the CSA standard."

"Protective Eyewear, a User's Guide" will be available for sale from CSA on March 26, by contacting CSA Standard Sales at [email protected], by calling toll-free (800) 463-6727 or by visiting CSA online at www.csa.ca.

The Canadian Standards Association (CSA) is a membership association serving industry, government, consumers and other interested parties in Canada and the global marketplace.
