Mabbett & Associates Inc. Environmental Consultants and Engineers, Bedford, Mass., has been awarded the 2001 Stephen Lewis Award for Leadership in the Environmental Industry.

The Environmental Business Council (EBC) of New England Inc. recently awarded Mabbett & Associates Inc. Environmental Consultants and Engineers, Bedford, Mass., with the 2001 Stephen Lewis Award for Leadership in the Environmental Industry.

Mabbett & Associates was recognized by the EBC for its successful establishment and growth of Mabbeth & Associates Ltd., a Glasgow, Scotland-based firm that provides environmental consulting and engineering services within the UK and internationally. The company founded Mabbeth & Associates Ltd. to export U.S. environmental expertise on a worldwide basis. Mabbeth & Associates was cited as the only locally based EBC member to successfully start up and grow an overseas consultancy.

Mabbett & Associates Ltd. currently employs 12 environmental science and engineering professional and support staff at offices in Glasgow and Prestwick, Scotland. Its clients include General Electric, Federal-Mogul, Shorts Brothers-Bombardier and several UK companies including Crop Chemicals, The Edrignton Group, BICC Cables, Glasgow City Council and Scottish Enterprises.
