The American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its Laboratory Quality Assurance Programs (LQAP).
AIHA held a reception at 3 p.m. June 7 at AIHCE '99 in Toronto to honor the milestone and present certificates to laboratories with more than 20 years of participation in LQAP.
The program encourages labs to perform occupational and environmental health analyses to raise their standards of competence. It has proven invaluable to the industrial hygiene profession, according to AIHA, because it provides a well-established and complete quality control program that maximizes the credibility of a lab's personnel, facilities and procedures in performing occupational and environmental health analyses.
"For 25 years, AIHA has symbolized integrity in accreditation. AIHA programs help organizations improve the excellence of their labs and provide the highest level of quality assurance," President James C. Rock said.
