Questions about the frequency and methods by which a portable gas monitor should be calibrated now are answered in an updated industry statement from the International Safety Equipment Association (ISEA).
This revised statement, first published in 2002, reflects current instrumentation technologies and monitoring practices, and seeks to reinforce the frequency and scenarios whereby a monitor's operability should be validated. The “ISEA Statement on Validation of Operation for Direct Reading Portable Gas Monitors” may be found at www.safetyequipment.org or by requesting a copy at [email protected].
ISEA Website Offers Online Ordering
The International Safety Equipment Association's (ISEA's) enhanced Web site at www.safetyequipment.org offers online ordering of safety equipment standards and other association publications, as well as direct links to a wealth of key information, including links via product categories to companies offering the types of safety equipment you need. The redesigned site also affords direct connections to “Standards,” “News & Publications,” “Resources,” “About ISEA,” “Product Groups,” the “JobBase” for finding or posting jobs, and information on how companies can become members of the association.
