David Loftin is Manager of Fabric Development and Compliance for VF Imagewear, Inc. He is responsible for compliance issues relating to government and industry standards and regulations for flame resistant garments as well as providing technical support to the Bulwark Protective Apparel brand. He is the editor of the Bulwark Flame Resistant Protective Apparel Industry Update, an objective review of flame resistant and thermally protective fibers and fabrics.

He is a member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and is a principal member of the NFPA Technical Committee on Flash Fire Protective Garments that produced NFPA Standards 2112 and 2113.

He is the VF Imagewear representative to ASTM International, serving as Chairman of ASTM F23.80 - Flame and Thermal Protective Clothing, and as a member of ASTM F18.65 - Wearing Apparel for Electrical Workers. In addition to these activities, he is a Senior Member of the American Association of Textile Colorists and Chemists (AATCC) and a member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ).
