David Cohen Enters NIGDA Hall of Fame

July 18, 2002
This year's recipient of the National Industrial Glove Distributor's Association's (NIGDA) "Hall of Fame Award" is David Cohen, a founding partner in (then) Magid Glove in 1946.

In the early 1950's, Magid began selling Edmont and Best brand gloves and Magid Glove Manufacturing Co. set off on the distribution adventure of a lifetime. Throughout the next four decades, over 400 glove and safety product manufacturing companies teamed up with Magid to distribute their products.

Cohen helped to create a business employing over 450 people. Under his guidance and expertise, Magid developed and currently manufacturers hundreds of new products.

A 20-year Magid veteran remembers, "Dave always took the time to answer questions, share a story and teach me everything he knew."

Dave's son, Adam, accepted this award on behalf of his father, who died in 1994, at a ceremony held this month in conjunction with Safety Week 2002 at the Keystone Resort & Conference Center in Keystone, Colo.

NIGDA is a trade association comprised of distributors, manufacturers and Raw material suppliers in the industrial glove industry.
