OSHA's Top 10 Most Cited Standards in 2007 for General Industry

Every year, OSHA issues a list of its most frequently cited standards. In 2007, the agency's hazard communication standard topped this list for violations found within the general industry. OSHA issued a total of 4,966 hazard communication citations in 2007.

According to the National Safety Council (NSC), a lack of written programs, material safety data sheets and a lack of training were some of last year's biggest issues in hazard communication for the general industry and led to the high number of violations.

OSHA usually announces its top 10 list of most frequently cited standards during the annual NSC Congress and Expo.
