Powered by 1-800-Volunteer.org, www.HelpinDisaster.org is the only Web site that makes this information available to the entire disaster volunteer management community so they can find volunteers with skills that match the local need.

HelpinDisaster.org was launched to coincide with National Hurricane Preparedness Week, May 21-27.

HelpinDisaster.org is sponsored by the Points of Light Foundation and Volunteer Center National Network, a nonprofit organization in Washington, DC. The foundation engages and mobilizes millions of volunteers who are helping to solve serious social problems in thousands of communities. Through a variety of programs and services, the Foundation encourages people from all walks of life – businesses, nonprofits, faith-based organizations, low-income communities, families, youth and older adults – to volunteer.
