Best Practices from the 2013 America's Safest Companies (Photo Gallery)

Feb. 4, 2014

Many companies go to great lengths to keep their business strategies under wraps – except when it comes to safety. Organizations that otherwise might be reluctant to open their doors welcome EHS professionals into their facilities to share best practices and to learn new methods for making their operations safer. It’s a tradition steeped in the spirit of continuous improvement – and in the spirit of saving lives.

Of course, that’s what the America’s Safest Companies program is all about. Since 2002, EHS Today has been sharing the stories of organizations that are excelling in their efforts to eliminate accidents and injuries, and these companies are more than happy to give us a glimpse into their operations so we can see what's working. Later this year, we’ll look forward to hearing some of those ideas in person at the third annual America’s Safest Companies Conference.

For now, we’d like to share a few quick snapshots of some of the best practices from the 2013 America’s Safest Companies. Even if these concepts aren’t new or earth-shattering to you, we hope they give you some food for thought – or at least affirm that your company is heading in the right direction.
