Preventative Care is Providing Strong ROI

Solar Plastics is offering on-site healthcare that includes chiropractic care that can save $4 for every $1 invested.

Providing healthcare that is cost-effective is tricky. Companies are always evaluating whether on-site care is worth the investment.

Well one company, Solar Plastics, has decided that it is. The company recently announced that its employees now have the option to receive chiropractic care and health consultations at the workplace, in partnership with WorkSiteRight, a division of Northwestern Health Sciences University.

The clinic is designed to provide preventative healthcare to decrease the potential of worker injuries, reduce employee out-of-pocket costs and offer new workplace benefits.

Since 2015, WorkSiteRight has partnered with local chiropractors and employers to open on-site clinics at businesses nationwide. At the clinics, employees consult with health providers free of charge during working hours. The providers also educate employees about how to properly lift, perform repetitive motions, sit and do office work—all with the goal of preventing injuries.

By proactively addressing common issues like burnout, stress, workplace optimization, and motivation through WorkSiteRight clinics across the country, employers are seeing reduced employee injuries, less employee absenteeism and lower employee health insurance premiums.

“WorkSiteRight clinics currently save $4 for every $1 invested in on-site care,” said Dr. Chad Henriksen, director of WorkSiteRight and doctor of chiropractic in a statement.

“The costs of risk management related to employee health and well-being are typically regarded as business overheads, but they should be viewed as investments,” Henriksen added.

And these investments can also be viewed as part of a company’s talent acquisition strategy.

“The battle for talent is very real, and we are always looking for ways to hire the best people and to keep them. A program like WorkSiteRight gives us a leg up over other companies of the same size or even larger to recruit, retain and be an employer of choice,” said Sam Rosen, President at Solar Plastics LLC. “The work we do here is hard, and we want to ensure our employees go home feeling as healthy and strong as when they came to work – this is an important part of our culture.”
