Champions of Safety Contest Deadline June 1

May 25, 1999
It's little surprise that 18- to 34-year-olds are at the heart of a nationwide increase in illegal drug use, and the manufacturing industry traditionally draws heavily from this pool of job seekers.

The deadline is days away for Occupational Hazards' fifth annual Champions of Safety contest.

Eligible candidates for the contest are individuals or teams who are responsible for health and safety concerns of a single operation or group of operations, a work force that has extensive involvement in workplace safety or an individual who has advanced the practice of occupational safety and health.

Entrants will be judged on activities and performance that have occurred for a minimum of three years. Winners will be honored at Occupational Hazards' Champions of Safety Conference & Expo on Sept. 21-22 at the Baltimore Convention Center.

For entry forms or more information, contact Pat Fernberg at Occupational Hazards, Champions of Safety, 1100 Superior Ave., Cleveland, OH 44114-2543, call (216)931-9239 or fax a request for information to (216)696-7000 to Fernberg's attention. An entry packet also can be sent via fax if a fax number is included.
