Overnite Transportation Drives Home 44 Million Accident-Free Miles

Thirteen Overnite Transportation drivers, logging more than 44 million accident-free miles, were selected for the company's 2000 All-Star Road Team.

Honoring its commitment to safety, Overnite Transporation Co., selected 13 drivers to its 2000 All-Star Road Team. Combined, they have logged more than 44 million accident-free miles.

The All-Star Road Team members serve as ambassadors for Overnite and the entire trucking industry, speaking on safety issues and driver professionalism across the country.

The honorees are headed by team captain John Lawrence, a road driver from Jackson, Tenn. Lawrence, a profession driver for 16 years, was a member of Tennessee's first Road Team in 1993.

Other All-Star Team members include: Richard Biesecker, Harrisburg, Pa.; Larry Brazzle, Springfield, Mo.; Dale Dowell, Detroit, Mich.; Christopher Harmon, Dayton, Ohio; John Harrison, Columbus, Ohio; Rufus Johnson Jr., Richmond, Va.; and Carroll Small, Norfolk, Va.

"We look forward to these distinguished employees representing Overnite across America," said Vice President for Safety and Security Phil Warren.

Criteria used to select the All-Star Road Team members include a driver's safety record, community and company involvement, performance, communication skills and driving awards.

Overnite Transportation has 13,000 employees and operates 166 service centers serving more than 45,000 points in all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and Guam.
