The Global Environmental Management Initiative (GEMI) will hold its annual conference, titled "Environment and Business, Sustaining Growth for the 21st Century," on March 27 and 28 at the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel in Baltimore.

Featured speakers will be C.T. Wright, executive director of the International Foundation for Education and Self-Help, and Amory Lovins, co-author of the new book Natural Capitalism: Creating the Next Industrial Revolution.

"Since its creation, GEMI has worked hard to design a conference that would meet the needs of domestic and worldwide audiences searching for tools and information to help them achieve environmental excellence," said Jim Thomas, conference chairman and executive director for environment, safety and health for Novartis Corp. "This conference presents an excellent opportunity to listen and learn from environmental leaders around the world, participate in workshops that focus on GEMI's leading-edge activities and discuss issues relating to future trends for environment, business and sustainable growth."

GEMI is a nonprofit organization of leading companies dedicated to fostering environmental, health and safety excellence worldwide. For more information on the conference, call GEMI at (202) 296-7449 or visit the group's Web site at www.gemi.org.
