VPPPA Partners with American Chemistry Council in Support of Occupational Safety and Health

April 14, 2009
In an ongoing effort to strengthen the occupational safety and health community, the Voluntary Protection Programs Participants’ Association, Inc. (VPPPA) formalized a networking partnership with the American Chemistry Council (ACC) on April 13. The partnership strives to enhance communication and cooperation between the two organizations in support of workplace safety and health.

“With this networking partnership between the American Chemistry Council and the Voluntary Protection Programs Participants’ Association, we are strengthening the occupational safety and health community and adding value to our membership,” said VPPPA Executive Director R. Davis Layne.

Particularly, the partnership is building on the synergy between VPPPA’s mission to advance safety and health excellence through best practices and cooperative efforts and ACC’s Responsible Care Program, which is the organizations’ signature environmental, health, safety and security performance initiative.

“The business practices of Responsible Care companies are the gold standard for health, safety, security and environmental performance,” said ACC President and CEO Cal Dooley. “We believe the recognition provided in this MOU underscores the ongoing efforts under the Responsible Care initiative and we look forward to working with VPPPA to promote continuous improvement in workplace safety.”

VPPPA and ACC will join in their efforts to provide pertinent information to their common audience, expand on outreach opportunities and work with OSHA on a federal and state-plan level to create safer workplaces for employees across the United States.
