The Voluntary Protection Programs Participants’ Association has selected EHS Today as the exclusive media sponsor of its National VPPPA Conference, held Aug. 26-29 in Nashville, Tenn.
EHS Today has been named the official media sponsor of the 29th Annual National Voluntary Protection Programs Participants’ Association (VPPPA) Conference. With a theme of “Setting the Stage for Safety and Health,” this conference will bring together thousands of EHS professionals in Nashville, Tenn., Aug. 26-29 to advance occupational safety and health.

VPPPA, a member-based association supporting worksites across the nation in their efforts to receive and maintain OSHA VPP status, is dedicated to cooperative occupational safety, health and environmental management systems. This is the first time in VPPPA’s nearly 30-year history that the organization has selected an official media partner. VPPPA chose EHS Today based on a shared vision of “global safety and health program advancement.”

“We are immensely excited about our partnership with EHS Today,” said VPPPA Executive Director Susan Jordan Sikes. “EHS Today is a perfect media partner for us to reach a wider target audience of safety and health advocates across industries working toward improving workplace safety and health – a perfect match to our mission.”

VPPPA’s national conference draws approximately 3,000 participants representing over 2,100 member sites and 1 million workers. The event’s mission is to “inform, educate and foster a network of safety and health professionals that advance the profession and programs on a global stage.”

EHS Today will provide editorial coverage of the conference, manage a booth and present a session. VPPPA also will spread the word about the America’s Safest Companies program in celebration of companies that strive to achieve world-class safety.

“Everyone at EHS Today is thrilled about this partnership,” said Sandy Smith, editor in chief of EHS Today. “VPPPA represents organizations that have truly world-class safety programs – the very type of organizations and safety professionals we count among our audience. We’re honored to be associated with the VPPPA conference and look forward to building this relationship.”

The 29th Annual National VPPPA Conference will take place August 26-29 at the Gaylord Opryland Convention Center in Nashville, Tenn. This 4-day event offers attendees opportunities to network, learn and advance as leaders in occupational safety and health. Event highlights include 2 full days of workshops addressing current EHS issues; inspiring keynote and general session speakers; the VPPPA Expo 2013; and evening receptions and other social activities that allow attendees to network and exchange best practices.

VPPPA conference participants represent a wide range of individuals involved in safety and health. Safety and health managers, employee safety team members, industrial hygienists, union representatives, consultants, environmental health specialists, human resource managers and government agency representatives from OSHA and Department of Energy come together for networking and education at this event.
