EHS Today and Rockwell Automation Honor Safety Achievement

At an awards ceremony at the America’s Safest Companies Conference in Atlanta on Oct. 29 at the historic Estates of Buckhead, EHS Today added 16 companies to the list of America’s Safest Companies and Rockwell Automation recognized three companies for its inaugural Manufacturing Safety Excellence Awards.

The 16 companies recognized by EHS Today achieved innovative and strategic safety goals and have injury and illness rates substantially lower than average for their industries. These companies were Advanced Technologies and Laboratories International, Alberici Constructors, American & Efird LLC, The Brock Group, Dresser-Rand, The Great Lakes Construction Co., Honda of South Carolina, LP Building Products, Morton Salt, The Mundy Companies, Northern Improvement Co., Odebrecht, Raytheon, Rogers Corp. Advanced Circuit Materials Division, Safariland LLC and Valdes Engineering.

“Companies that are named to EHS Today’s ASC list understand the symbiotic relationship between safety and productivity, profits, morale and employee retention,” said Sandy Smith, editor-in-chief of EHS Today. “The marketplace is demanding that companies be sustainable, and they only should be considered sustainable if they protect their most important asset: employees.”

The first-ever Rockwell Automation Manufacturing Safety Excellence Awards also were announced that evening, given to companies with exemplary performance in culture, compliance policies and procedures, and use of automation technologies to improve worker safety and productivity. The companies winning the Rockwell Automation Safety Excellence Awards were General Motors Co., PepsiCo Inc. and Procter & Gamble Co.
