DPA Safety

The Distributor Partners of America (DPA) recently launched its new division DPA Safety. This member-driven buying and marketing organization consists of more than 75 independent and high-volume safety equipment and clothing distributors. DPA Safety entered a marketing alliance with The Panda Group to become a premier safety and janitorial buying group. Its new Web site, http://www.DPASafety.com, contains a supplier resource section, a support network for members and other member information.

Magid Glove & Safety

Andres Maldonado was hired as the new director of marketing for Magid Glove & Safety to promote and market the company's line of industrial work gloves and PPE. Prior to joining Magid, Maldonado spent 13 years working for NEC Display Solutions of America, where he most recently was senior director of product marketing.

Magid Glove recently earned recognition as a partner-level supplier for 2007 in the John Deere Achieving Excellence Program for its dedication to providing products and service of outstanding quality, as well as its commitment to continuous improvement.

ICS Laboratories

ICS Laboratories expanded its scope of IEC/ISO 17025 accredited head protection testing and conformity assessments to include the full range of ASTM, CPSC and NOCSAE standards for sports and recreational protection. The American Association for Laboratory Accreditation granted this accreditation after assessing ICS's abilities and technical competencies in testing and performance assessment of sports and recreational head protection products.

Scott Health & Safety

Scott Health & Safety recently received NIOSH approval for the Scott AV-2000 facepiece as a CBRN-approved air-purifying respirator (APR), making it the first facepiece that can be converted from CBRN APR to a CBRN SCBA application without using tools. This universal application of CBRN approval is unique in the industry and allows first responders to respond to virtually any emergency situation without carrying two different facepieces in the field.

Industrial Scientific

Industrial Scientific Corp. recently announced that T.J. Bloom was hired as the director of operations for Industrial Scientific Americas, where he will be responsible for manufacturing, manufacturing engineering and supply chain functions within the company. Bloom has a BS in industrial and manufacturing engineering and is an ASQ certified manager of quality and organizational excellence.

Pelican Products

The Canadian Military awarded a contract for 33,000 co-polymer cases from Pelican Products Inc. of Edmonton, Canada. The cases, an advanced design of Pelican's 1630 Protector Case, are to be issued to every soldier in the Canadian Forces to transport personal and military-issued equipment.

“We're proud to offer a solution that will enhance the Canadian Military's readiness and safety,” said Lyndon Faulkner, CEO of Pelican Products.
