EHS Today and the Safety Leadership Conference (SLC) event team have closely monitored the developments around the COVID-19 pandemic with the goal of protecting the health and safety of its attendees, speakers, sponsors and employees. In order to host a safe and productive event, and in keeping with protocols established by various government agencies, the decision has been made to shift SLC from an in-person event to a virtual experience. The “Safer” Safety Leadership Conference will be held on the same dates as originally planned: November 10-12, 2020, and is hosted by Endeavor Business Media.
SLC 2020 will be a 3-day conference and exhibition held 100% online. This multi-faceted virtual event experience will feature leaders in the environmental, health and safety profession presenting webinars, panel discussions and chat forums to exchange information and share best practices. The exhibit floor will feature interactive opportunities to meet one-on-one with sponsors from around the country to network and explore new products and solutions.
“Safety Leadership Conference has always been focused on helping companies achieve and sustain a safety culture, and this year it’s more important than ever that EHS professionals have a forum to interact with each other—even if it’s virtually,” said Dave Blanchard, content director of SLC 2020 and editor-in-chief of EHS Today.
The most important element of the Safety Leadership Conference is the educational component contributed by the experts speaking in five tracks: safety and risk management; compliance; construction; safety technology; and new for 2020, fleet safety. An additional educational incentive is that the sessions may be eligible for recertification points towards the maintenance requirement of the BCSP credential, administered by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. SLC will also feature keynote presentations and workshops. And as in years past, the conference will also reveal the winners of this year’s America’s Safest Companies competition.
