OSHA Seeks Applicants for Susan Harwood Grants

OSHA is seeking applications for $6.7 million in new Susan Harwood Training Grants. The agency awards these funds to nonprofit organizations to provide training and education programs for employers and employees on safety and health topics.

OSHA selected 18 training topics for this grant announcement, including:

  • combustible dust;
  • falls from scaffolds, ladders and roofs in construction; and
  • food processing health hazards, such as diacetyl exposure in popcorn and other food flavoring facilities.

Applications are due May 23, 2008, and OSHA will not grant deadline extensions. Grants are awarded for a 12-month project performance period.
